Where to put it

  1. Open your own experience in Roblox Studio and show the Explorer and Output panels.
  2. Default text channels must be enabled in TextChatService.
  3. Insert a LocalScript at StarterPlayer › StarterPlayerScripts.
  4. Paste the code, press Play and test the behavior. Read Output if anything fails.

Line by line

1. Waits for the default chat channel.

2. Displays a local welcome message.

3. Uses the modern TextChatService API.

Common mistakes

!
Check the object names and script location.

Names are case sensitive. A LocalScript needs a client execution context, while server data and permissions belong in a Script. Test with multiple players before publishing.
